End-of-Year Reports: Guidelines for You and Your Staff
Turn what can be a monumental headache into a smooth routine with some planning, shared responsibility, and clear communication.
Your district will usually send out a detailed explanation of procedures for lost or damaged materials, inventory, rebinds, etc.
At your building, however, you’ll want to pare down and streamline the detail management.
To accomplish that, develop—with input from your assistant—a “Who Gets What” checklist to help teachers organize all those reports and forms for efficient checkout in June.
The principal’s section is last for several reasons: (A) I’m required to verify that each teacher has completed the list, and (B) it gives me a chance to talk about summer plans and wish everyone a well-deserved break.
