Intervention Specialists Aid Students with Visual Impairments

Nationwide, there is a shortage of trained visual impairment teachers. With support from the School Study Council of Ohio, the college offers an alternative pathway to licensure for intervention specialists working with low-vision or blind students, ages pre-K through grade 12. Led by Peter Paul, the college also offers Ohio’s only university-based certification program for orientation and mobility specialists, who teach students to travel safely and navigate their environments.
